David Marten joined GQR in late 2024 to grow, expand, and lead the firm’s contract staffing and workforce solutions offering. In this role, he partners with life sciences organizations to design and deliver flexible talent strategies—from contract staffing and staff augmentation to broader workforce solutions and SOW-based engagements—helping companies scale efficiently and achieve critical research and business milestones.

 

David brings more than a decade of experience building and leading high-performing recruiting organizations within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. He is known for developing strong 360/full-desk recruiting teams, mentoring top performers, and creating cultures centered around accountability, partnership, and results. His consultative approach focuses on deeply understanding client objectives and aligning talent strategies that enable innovation, growth, and operational success.

 

Prior to joining GQR, David spent over 11 years with Real Staffing, part of the Sthree Group, where he led the West Coast contract staffing team within the life sciences division. During his tenure, he helped scale the region’s contract business while building and training high-performing teams. His leadership and the success of his teams were recognized with multiple internal honors, including Manager of the Year and Team of the Year awards.

 

Based in San Francisco, David operates at the center of one of the world’s leading life sciences hubs. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his beautiful wife, spending time with their dog Piper, playing and watching ice hockey, and discovering exceptional scotch whiskies.
