We had the pleasure of chatting with SarahBeth, an experienced travel nurse who has traversed various corners of the United States, from the lush landscapes of Hawaii to the rugged beauty of Oregon. Here’s what travel nurse SarahBeth shared about her travel experience.

What’s your favorite city you’ve worked in so far and why?

Grants Pass, Oregon holds a special place in my heart. I’ve had the opportunity to work there three times already, and each time, I discover something new to love about it. Oregon, overall, is a breathtaking state, with its diverse landscapes and vibrant communities. Despite the occasional challenges like wildfires, the beauty of Oregon never fails to captivate me.

Best hack or tip for making life on the road more comfortable?

One of my go-to hacks for saving on flights is using Priceline Express. You can often score flights at 30-50% off, which can make a significant difference, especially when you’re traveling frequently. Additionally, investing in quality travel essentials like a comfortable neck pillow and a compact yet durable suitcase can make your journey much more enjoyable.

What’s a myth about being a traveler?

One common misconception is that travel nurses always get stuck with the toughest assignments. While it’s true that we’re often called upon to lend our expertise in challenging situations, it’s not always the case. Many of us have a wealth of experience and can handle a variety of assignments with ease. Instead of viewing difficult assignments as punishment, I see them as opportunities to showcase my skills and make a positive impact wherever I go.

How do you like to spend your free time while on assignment?

I’m a firm believer in striking a balance between exploring new destinations and taking time for self-care. I enjoy immersing myself in the local culture, whether it’s through sampling regional cuisine, embarking on scenic hikes, or simply spending time with fellow travelers and locals. However, I also cherish moments of solitude, whether it’s watching a movie, strolling through a nearby park, or indulging in some much-needed relaxation at a spa.
